What could I do for you?

• Express carrier do have the option of providing so called 'meta-information', which enables SAP customers to set up this express carrier by entering a URL or - if the express carrier is already certified by SAP it will show up in their directory and he can just double-click the entry.
  I can help express carriers setting up and providing these XML-messages.
• You might have a 3rd party solution (manifesting system) in place, which already does what you want. Why change a winning horse.
  You might still want to integrate the tracking option with this software e.g.
  The other option is to replace the 3rd party software with a few add-ons in SAP. Most of the puzzle is there. Reading scales, a scanner friendly frontend, a way to support your label printers and a bit of know how will do the trick.
• Transferring data:
  • Express carrier/freight forwarder: I can help to understand SAP-XML messages via Internet.
  • If the express carrier doesn't unerstand the SAP-XML format he could get from his customer easily, I can do the reformatting in my 'Trackingserver'.
• Receiving tracking data from your express carrier. If the express carrier doesn't support the SAP-XML format, I can do the conversion in my 'Trackingserver'.

• Asynchrone methods (IDOCs) communicate with tRFC (transactional RFC) or - unfortunately - with files.
• Synchronous methods communicate in RFCs.

Internet

• Internet Transaction Server (ITS)
• The ITS pretends to be a regular presentation server (SAPGUI).
• For the Internet CLient ( = Browser) it's just a Webserver which delivers HTTP/HTML format.
  The ITS requires a template which provides the design of the page and merges the data it gets from SAP. The tool to create templates is WEBStudio from SAP.
• The latest version now automatically converts SAP transaction in HTML creating very attracting 'FROG' design. It's known as WebGUI.
• SAP Business Connector (SBC)
• The SBC presents itself as a RFC Client/Server. So SAP sends/receives IDOCs/RFCs and the SBC converts it to XML or sends it to mySAP.com e.g.
